I overall enjoyed the game a lot - the gameplay and audio are great, and the enemy designs are fun.
But I'd love to see more polish in a lot of places:
Some graphics seem very low effort, like the explosions and the earth.
Some more feedback would be nice, like score numbers when enemies die, so I can understand the scoring system better.
Would be nice to have more control options for laser and bomb, maybe some keys. (I know AS2 doesn't support the other mouse buttons unfortunately)
Clicking the laser power ups was frustrating, the clickable area seems very strict. (If it's just a regular hitTest, you could put a transparent circle around it to expand the clickable area a bit)

Overall a cool game with some rough edges!

TeamTamago responds:

Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad you liked it!
Yeah, I made the earth and the explosions right at the start and then right at the deadline I was like OH NO! In terms of controls, I wanted the game to work on smartphones so I limited it to one button mouse only. I don't know, maybe I might add buttons for pc players and maybe improve some other stuff too.

Fantastic game!
I've noticed some collision detection problems in fullscreen - if I push into a wall I can start slowly going down through the ground. I'm guessing this might be a rounding error which causes issues on certain stage scales - I had a similar problem in one of my games.

Starblinky responds:

Ahhhhh shit. I actually hadn't even tried the game in full screen! Thanks for that report, I’ll check it out when I get home from work.

And thanks for the review!

Thank you for this.
NFTs and most of crypto is retarded.

Stepford responds:

People need bigger creators like you to say no to that stuff. Thanks homie. ❤️

Thanks for the easy medals.

Little-Radiodemon responds:

Anytime!

What's the secret medal?!

Cyberdevil responds:

Whaaaaaat matt-likes-swords the one and only playing my little game here?! What an epic fantasy moment! :D Thanks for the stars and stopping by and all!

The secret hmm... it may manifest itself if you don't take things too hastily. ;) See something fishy just try clicking on that.

This is awesome. It's so some simple that I can recommend this to anyone, even non-gamers.
I love your animations style.

Butzbo responds:

Wow thanks Matt! and that's really cool to hear! Happy to have more 'accessible' stuff :)

Got 51 seconds. The trick is to stand in the corner and swing away.

I love the sound effects btw, they really stand out.

Edit: Ooops, didn't realise there was more than one level! Honestly thought that was the whole game.

jontopielski responds:

51 seconds on first level?

Very stylish game with super smooth animations.
As someone who might go for all of the achievements - is there a way to restart a level very quickly?

Also how do you make your text look so good without filters? Is it a custom font, or some other trick to get the nice outlines?

TomFulp responds:

The map fonts were custom made by JohnnyUtah, so the outlines are just baked into the art.

I just made an update so in the factory, you can press R to reset and M to return to the map. These only work on desktop at the moment... Thinking of a reset button in the top corner on mobile but it would probably have to go away before you shoot stuff... I worry about people bumping it.

This is like some cruel prank to give to your friends.
No achievements for me this time.

Wiesi responds:

Yeah, this game is pretty much like my other game "Bullriding Explosive" which is sort of impossible to master lol (well the problem is that it was much slower when i made it, but on modern pc's it's way too fast)

Huh, I never played this one when it originally came out.
Very cool, maybe my favourite so far out of all the shark games.
The CRT filter is a really small thing that I feel adds a lot of style to the game.

But I gotta admit I used an auto clicker for the 5 second achievements - those seem impossible for humans to do. Maybe this game ran slower on computers from 2013?

Wiesi responds:

Hey thanks a lot for playing and reviewing! I feel honored! :)

I made Epic Battle Fantasy!
