This is a mastapiece!
It's been years since I rewatched FLCL, but I've still got this whole episode memorised.
I overall enjoyed the game a lot - the gameplay and audio are great, and the enemy designs are fun.
But I'd love to see more polish in a lot of places:
Some graphics seem very low effort, like the explosions and the earth.
Some more feedback would be nice, like score numbers when enemies die, so I can understand the scoring system better.
Would be nice to have more control options for laser and bomb, maybe some keys. (I know AS2 doesn't support the other mouse buttons unfortunately)
Clicking the laser power ups was frustrating, the clickable area seems very strict. (If it's just a regular hitTest, you could put a transparent circle around it to expand the clickable area a bit)
Overall a cool game with some rough edges!
Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad you liked it!
Yeah, I made the earth and the explosions right at the start and then right at the deadline I was like OH NO! In terms of controls, I wanted the game to work on smartphones so I limited it to one button mouse only. I don't know, maybe I might add buttons for pc players and maybe improve some other stuff too.
Point and click adventure games are usually too slow-paced for me, but this progressed so quickly that it was just right.
Would definitely have played more of this if it were longer!
The sound effects and animations were very charming.
Pretty cool for a little Game Jam thing!
Other than the environment looking a bit plain, it's really polished and plays well!
Looks cool!
Added it to my wishlist!
Thank youu!
