I would go code for a bank or something instead.
I think it's probably way harder to find success now than when I started - there's way more people doing it. Maybe try pitching some small meme games that I could make for famous YouTubers.

I think fans need to flesh out stuff like that themselves, since the plots are generally just there to tie the gameplay together more than anything else, like in Zelda games.

Only add features that work well with what you already have, unless you want to start working on a completely different game over time.
Asking since I'm very fond of 8-Bit Theater and noticed a lot of references in the EBF games over the years, what was your favorite joke in 8BT(That you remember), and was your (started as a self-insert) character of Matt partially inspired by Fighter?
It inspired me a lot back then, but I've never revisited it and don't remember it very well any more.

1. It was just for the funny.
2. I wouldn't go anywhere near them. I used to play Maple Story and when the microtransactions become a central part of that game, I learned a lesson for life.
