Hey! I think your level editor is really cool. Could you please tell me how exactly your code is detecting the mc's you put on the stage?

the MCs call level methods when they're constructed.
for example, platforms call Game.level.addPlatform(this);
Nifty setup, man. Really nice foundation work, too.
Looks like if this one is a success, you've got a pretty stream-lined base to build future iterations.
that's the plan :D
Enemies hit themselves with those fireballs. That is more than awesome.
Nice. Classes are extremely handy indeed.
When is it released?
a few more weeks.
Hey Thanks for the answer man :D
I am making a space shooter where I have to insert many asteroids as a "level" design.
I didn't want to make it random, so I think ill try your technique.
Awwww yeah!
That's sweet, man. Do you use AS2 or AS3?
AS3
impressive work, and the game looks like its gonna be fun as well
That looks extremely tedious man... Why don't you code a simple level editor? You also wouldn't have to go through compiling the whole thing each time you wanna test a level
you mean I should basically remake Flash's drawing tools so I can save 10 seconds when testing a level?
No, I mean you should code a real, re-usable level editor, that would allow you to make maps larger than Flash's maximum stage size, that wouldn't slow down when you have multiple assets on the stage, that would automatically place assets at the right depth for you, that would open the door for user levels and that would translate all the objects to code so that you wouldn't have to write level.addSpecificObjectType(x, y, rotation, scaleX, scaleY) in every movie clip like you probably do. AND it wouldn't require you to build the entire project again for every minor modification (you and I both know that compiling a large game with all assets, sounds and music takes more than 10 secs.)
Don't be a smartass.
but that sounds like even more work...
although I agree that user generated levels would be nice, and I have thought about that, I'd rather not stick to tile-based levels. there's a lot of extra decorations I like to add to my levels that isn't shown here, and it would be difficult to make an editor for all that. the level editors I have seen in flash games aren't particularly flexible.
anyway, I've found work-arounds for the rest of those problems, and minus the music, my game really does take 10 seconds to compile, and it's almost finished as well.
so it's not going as badly as you think...
what is BF? and what is the name of music during in the battle in brawl royale?
epic work can't wait to try it
@pirate9899
He will start production on EBF4 after this, I think he just needs some fresh air and start making games differing from his normal style (e.g., this and Bullet Heaven).
Wow Matt! You're a genius, hope I can be as good as you in flash someday! I'm waiting for Adventure Story and EBF 4! Hope you continue always doing good works like these!
u know u could try making a console version of ur game. EBF is awesome and im sure u could find sponsors for it
So this and EBF4 are a totally different thing, right? Anyway, what's your estimation of when EBF4 and this game will be finished?
this is wicked cool dude!
Oooh this looks fun.
omg! you just replied to my comment! Thanks =D

Is it the same characters as Epic BF?
