What drives me crazy is not the idea that games are moving towards interactive movies, there's a niche for that. It's that the games that follow that line don't really actually offer any difference resulting from your choices. Like Mass Effect, they give the illusion that you're changing the game based on your choices, but HEY DEVELOPERS, if I WANT to assist the Reapers, maybe you could allow me to actually affect the game through choice. K, done ranting, by the way, the last FF I played was 10, cause it lost all of it's youthful romance when they started voice acting. The game was beautiful but yeah... Boring. I dunno. I guess I'm too old.
My biggest complaint about FFXIII (playing it on a PS3) is that you can only control one character, which kind of causes the game to lose some dimensions for me. It loses a lot of what could be called strategy because most of what you're doing is hitting X over and over, while the game thinks for you.

Its true Final Fantasy 13 is boring and frustrating, thats why we Xbox gamerz play Halo.
My fave Final Fantasy was twelve. Another great game to fall into the "Interactive Movie" category. How sad.
The collector's edition (for ANYTHING, not just this) is a waste of money. Unless of course, you happen to be a stickler for bonus DVDs, fancy boxes and crap like that. Can anybody else agree with that?

if i remember correctly, mgs1 was a movie with some running and shooting in between
FFXIII is good, not really good. to linear to be acctualy good. though i like it WAAAAAY better than FFXII, that one just sucked horribly.
FFXIII gets better the further you come the strategdy is paradim shifting trust me there are bosses like Cid Raines and Odin that are kinda tuff i dont think it is that boring and i like the combat system and Hope starts to get more hope later in the game
FF13 will get better later in the game and you will get tutorials almost till the end.
I still say get Lost Odyssey :3
