It's incredible how you managed to make a game like EBF5 in Adobe Flash! I imagine it crashed a bunch of times.

It does crash, but usually it lets me save before kicking me out. Very rarely do I lose more than 5 minutes of work.

This was me a really chill read dude. Gotten me a nice dose of that sweet late naughties nostalgia, reading about 'The Kitten Game' (actually still one of my favorite lil' ol' NG classic games, I still associate you with in my head to this day, lol) and some very relatable bits on the very workaround-methods of game-making, with some basic actionscript 2 bits. Turning into a (less relatable for me, but still enjoyable to read) evolution into more propper programming and game-producing.

Nice to hear from you again Matt thanks for the update back when i first play'd Bullet Heaven and 2nd one was so addicted ....because it reminded me alot of a previous game i used to play on console named Galaxian / Raptor and Summer Carnival 92 Recca( this one Summer ...when i finally finished it was so happy) but now i can play EBF5 on my phone and still plan on getting it on stream, cant wait to see Matt's hidden cats so looking foward to that

Very inspiring reminder of the importance of setting personal limitations so that you could actually get projects done with the current skill level and time constraints you have, even as hardware limitations become less and less of a thing. I think this is relevant in 3D animation, too, especially as game engines and Blender's Eevee make it faster and easier than ever to render triple-A quality visuals in a reasonable amount of time, but that does not necessarily mean it's any more feasible to essentially re-make the original Toy Story without a large, Pixar-sized team of experts who need zero hand-holding during the production process.

Also, I have fond memories playing Epic Battle Fantasy games on Kongregate back in the day. Should definitely give EBF5 a try on my Steam Deck the next time I'm itching for some turn-based RPG goodness on my Steam Deck.

What a nice and interesting paragraph 😁

Interesting

man, it’s refreshing to hear about staying within limitations rather than trying to obsessively push boundaries all the damn time. looking forward to the future of kupo games.

I'm going to buy all your games and I'm going to give them to my friends
